Tomato Soup

A combination of summer fresh tomatoes & herbs in a soul-warming soup.

Ingredients

  • 6 quarts Tomato Sauce - See How To's for ingredient recipe.
  • cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • tsp Black Pepper -
  • tsp Onion Powder
  • tsp Garlic Powder

Instructions

  • In a large stock pot or dutch oven, bring the tomato sauce to a boil.
  • Add the sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Reduce to a simmer.
  • Allow the soup to reduce by ⅓ to ½ volume.
  • Serve now or save for later.

Notes

Culinarian Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions:
This tomato soup can be frozen in freezer-safe bags or canned in a pressure canner for a later time.  Reheat it in a sauce pan over medium heat or put it into a crockpot for a slow warm-up.
