Pork Sausage Chili

A savory, rich and spicy of stew of pork, beans, and fire-roasted peppers and tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs Pork Sausage - hot or mild - your choice
  • 32 oz Chili Beans - hot or mild - your choice
  • 4 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Sweet Onions - finely chopped
  • 4 cups Fire-Roasted Tomatoes - See How To's - Ingredients.
  • 1 cup Fire-Roasted Peppers - See How To's - Ingredients.

Instructions

  • In a 6-quart stock pot, brown the pork sausage.
  • Add the chopped onion and saute with the sausage until translucent.
  • Don't drain off the excess fat from the sausage and onion mixture.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Culinarian Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions:
You can alter this recipe using different combinations of beans, meats, and peppers.  
Try shredded cheddar cheese, fresh raw onion, and/or sour cream for a garnish. 
This chili can also be saved for later meals by freezing in freezer-safe bags or canned using the pressure canning method on high pressure for 75 minutes.
