Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Sweet Onions - diced
- ¾ cup Ketchup
- 2 tbsp Water
- 2 tbsp Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp Prepared Yellow Mustard
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp Chili Powder
- ¼ tsp Garlic Powder
- ¼ tsp Onion Powder
- ½ cup Fire-Roasted Peppers
- 4 each Hamburger Buns
- Salt and Pepper - to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add beef, onions, and peppers. Stir occasionally until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent -approximately 10 minutes.
- Drain any excess grease.
- Stir in the ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Bring the beef and sauce mixture to a boil over medium heat. Reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer until the sauce has thickened - approximately 30- 40 minutes.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Spoon onto hamburger buns to serve.

Culinarian Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions:
If the sauce is on the sweet side, add 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper for a bit of heat.
if ou choose to simmer the mixture longer, make sure to stir occasionally to ensure that the sauce isn't sticking, burning or becoming too thick.
Serve with or without buns - there are no rules with Sloppy Joes!
