Appalachian BBQ Sauce

A sweet, tangy barbecue sauce with a hint of heat.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • ½ cup Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Pepper Jelly
  • 2 tsp Chipotles in Adobo - canned
  • ¾ tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • tsp Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp Cornstarch
  • ½ tsp Water

Instructions

  • In a small dish combine the cornstarch and water to make a slurry paste.
  • In a separate medium-size mixing bowl, combine all of the remaining ingredients.
  • Add the cornstarch and water mixture to the sauce to thicken your desired thickness.

Notes

Culinarian Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions:
Serve now or store in the refrigerator for later.  We have found that the flavor remains stable for months if stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
